Susan Norris, artist of the spirit...

   

     As an avid outdoors woman, Susan has been painting and sculpting professionally for over 25 years.  Totally self taught, Susan has developed her own style and techniques, working in many mediums including oils, watercolor, pencil and bronze sculpture.

     Her ability to capture the personality and spirit of her subjects has made her an award winning and sought after artist.  As a avid outdoor enthusiast and bow hunter, Susan has the hands on experience to accurately and sensitively depict her subjects.

     Specializing in commission work involving sporting dogs, hunting scenes, pets, horses, wildlife and the west, Susan's sensitivity shows in the life-like expressions of her studies.

   Active in such conservation groups as Ducks Unlimited, Safari Club International, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Susan believes in supporting groups that conserve and preserve wildlife habitats for the future.

Susan's talent has earned her numerous awards including, Ohio Ducks Unlimited Artist of the Year, 8th place in the Federal Duck Stamp Competition, National Retriever Club Sponsoring artist, and many others.

Susan lives in Raton, New Mexico with her husband Ralph, where they both enjoy hunting, fishing, endurance racing, and raising Arabian horses.
